Reports to: Packaging Manager (EM Supply and Demand China Rx)


Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

This role exists to provide and continuously improve support services for serialization and coding with focus on:


  1. Providing an effective serialization support service to all China Rx Import Sites ensuring all products are compliant with the CFDA Serialization requirements

  2. Ensuring continuity of supply to the China Rx market by successfully interacting with Ali-Health(Serialization agents) during new Import Site registration and where serialization challenges require effective & efficient communication with Ali-Health

  3. Local governance and integration of the end to end support service (EESS) ensuring alignment with the end to end GMS supply chain

  4. Business and serialisation solution SME support including interaction with other GSK Shared Service and customer support groups

The China Serialization Service (imported Rx products) includes the application & registration of new overseas supply Sites and provide a serialization data service for the supply Sites (downloading /uploading of e-codes. The role will also provide SME support during issue resolution related to serialization at all levels of the China Rx Supply Chain.


The role will develop and implement these responsibilities and purpose and will align with the central Fingerprint Program team and will provide steady state support in the area of serialization and coding across the China Rx supply chain. The Serialization Officer will be responsible for the provision of day to day operation of the China serialization support service and will fulfill all the following accountabilities for all relevant components of this service.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience in a China Serialization Requirements both from a CFDA & GSK perspective and able to apply such requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service focused team or environment

  • Demonstrated breadth of knowledge and experience across the end-to-end process that they provide support to, acquired through multiple roles in different functions, in particular in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing engineering and business

Knowledge of the network of subject matter experts relevant to customer support (both inside and outside GSK)

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Able to demonstrate clear and effective communication with Ali-Health – CFDA Serialization agent to ensure effective & efficient trouble shooting

  • Customer Service Focus: Must have a strong service oriented mindset ensuring that the focus of everything they do is to support the needs of the customer

  • Continuous Improvement – Must be capable of working with clear KPI’s and tracking the realization of these KPI’s, while also identifying and realizing improvement goals

  • Highly Structured Analytical Approach: Must be capable of operating in a highly structured and standardized framework for providing a support service, including problem solving, troubleshooting and trend analysis

  • Flexible Thinking: Must possess sound judgment on how and when to propose new ideas. They must clearly perceive the multiple options for any decision that they make and make balanced recommendations based on facts and data.

  • Teamwork – Must be capable of working effectively in complex cross functional teams

Communication – Capable of creating simple, compelling messages that summarize their desired direction and clarify the benefits to GSK of following this direction
